I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeast Missouri State University, along with a Master of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU). I also completed specialized training in play therapy and earned certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) through MNU. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a former licensed Kansas educator with an endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages.
In addition, I am a Certified AutPlay Therapy Provider, working closely with neurodivergent children and their families. I have also completed Level 1 training in Theraplay, further strengthening my ability to support secure attachment and emotional development through play-based interventions.
I bring a deep passion for working with individuals, children, and families. For more than 20 years, I taught elementary students in the Shawnee Mission and Blue Valley School Districts. Now, as a therapist, I take an integrated, client-centered approach—adapting therapy to meet each person's unique strengths and needs.
When working with children, I believe that play is a powerful language. Through play, children can express their inner world, build coping skills, and process challenges in a developmentally appropriate way. I work with children, teens, adults, and families as they navigate life’s complexities, offering compassionate support and practical tools along the way.
My goal is to empower individuals to recognize their strengths, foster resilience, and build strong, nurturing relationships. I believe secure, supportive connections are essential for healthy emotional and physical growth.
Family is at the heart of who I am. I’ve been married to my husband for 27 years, and we have two wonderful daughters currently in college. At home, I enjoy moments with our playful cats, Squiggles and Zipper, who never fail to make me smile.
